Why Custom Packaging Inserts

Why Inserts Are Non-Negotiable for Premium Brands

A beautiful box with a damaged product inside is a brand disaster. Inserts aren't optional — they're insurance against returns, negative reviews, and lost customers. Beyond protection, the right insert creates a satisfying unboxing choreography: lift the lid, remove the tissue, reveal the product nestled perfectly in its custom cavity. That moment drives repeat purchases and unboxing videos.

Cavity-Precision Engineering

CAD-Molded to Your Exact Product Dimensions.

We don't guess — we scan. Send us your physical product or 3D model, and our engineering team creates a precise digital cavity with 0.2mm tolerance. We account for wall thickness, compression set, and thermal expansion. Prototypes are produced and tested with your actual product before mass production begins.

Material Science Matched to Your Product

The Right Insert Material for Every Product Category.

Cosmetics need non-abrasive foam that won't scratch serigraphy. Electronics need ESD-safe materials. Food needs FDA-compliant barriers. Heavy items need compression-resistant board. We match insert material to your product's weight, surface finish, sensitivity, and retail environment — not a one-size-fits-all approach.

The Right Insert Material for Every Product Category.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

What's the minimum order for custom inserts?
Cardboard inserts: 500 units. Foam/molded pulp inserts: 1,000 units. Plastic trays: 2,000 units (due to tooling costs). Tooling is often waived on reorders.
Do I need to send you my physical product?
Ideally, yes — especially for foam and molded pulp inserts where precise fit matters. Alternatively, a detailed 3D model (STEP/IGES format) works. We also accept precise technical drawings with tolerances.
Can inserts be printed?
Cardboard and paperboard inserts can be fully printed (CMYK or Pantone). Molded pulp can be color-matched (PMS solid colors). Foam inserts are typically unprinted but can have branded release liners.
How do inserts affect my box size?
Inserts add 2-5mm to each internal dimension depending on material thickness. We factor this into your box dieline automatically when you order inserts and boxes together — ensuring perfect fit.
What's the prototype process?
We produce a physical prototype (usually within 5-7 days) using final-production materials. You receive it with your actual product inserted. Approve or request adjustments. Only after your sign-off do we proceed to mass production.
