Custom Plastic Tray Inserts

Insert Types

Custom Plastic Tray Inserts

Thermoformed trays with the finest detail of any insert type. Crystal-clear or opaque, food-safe grades available, and tooling costs far below injection moulding.

Why Custom Plastic Tray Inserts

Maximum precision, minimum tooling cost

Thermoforming heats a plastic sheet and draws it over a mould with vacuum. It captures detail no other insert process can match — undercuts, thin ribs, precise snap-fit retention — and the tooling is a fraction of injection mould cost, so it stays viable at moderate volumes.

Clarity is the other reason buyers choose it. A clear PET tray lets the product be seen and assessed through the pack, which matters in retail confectionery, medical kits, and any category where the buyer needs to verify contents without opening. The honest trade-off is recyclability: rPET and PET are widely accepted, PVC and PS increasingly are not.

Built-In Advantages

What Makes Our Custom Plastic Tray Inserts Stand Out

Finest detail of any insert type

Snap-fit retention, undercuts, and thin ribs come out crisp, so the product locks in place without extra components.

Clear product visibility

The customer can see and assess contents through the pack — decisive in retail, medical kitting, and assortment packaging.

Low tooling cost

An aluminium thermoform tool costs a fraction of an injection mould and is made in ten to fifteen days, so a design revision is not a budget event.

Food-safe and medical grades

Certified food-contact PET and medical-grade materials with full documentation where regulated.

Post-consumer recycled PET with near-identical performance and a materially better sustainability story.

PVC

Deepest draw and lowest cost, excellent for complex blisters. Facing growing recycling restrictions.

PS (polystyrene)

Rigid and economical, usually opaque or frosted. Common in confectionery and cosmetics trays.

Anti-static coating

For electronic components and circuit boards where static discharge is a risk.

Custom colour and frosting
