Custom Molded Pulp Inserts
Wet-pressed recycled fibre moulded to your product shape. Fully compostable, genuinely protective, and the format most associated with premium sustainable packaging.
Why Custom Molded Pulp Inserts
Plastic-free protection that still performs
Molded pulp is made by forming recycled paper fibre in a slurry against a shaped screen, then pressing and drying it. The result protects like a lightweight foam but goes into the paper recycling stream or a home compost bin. For brands under pressure to remove plastic from the pack, it is usually the only insert format that satisfies both the protection brief and the sustainability brief.
The catch is tooling. Pulp needs a metal mould, which is a real upfront cost and roughly three to four weeks to make. That makes pulp the wrong answer for a 500-piece test and the right answer for an established SKU running tens of thousands a year, where the tooling amortises quickly and the per-unit cost undercuts foam.

Built-In Advantages
What Makes Our Custom Molded Pulp Inserts Stand Out
Genuinely compostable
No coating, no plastic, no separation step. The insert goes in the compost or the paper recycling with the box.
Protects by structure, not density
Ribs, curves, and crumple zones designed into the mould absorb impact — a well-designed pulp tray outperforms a poorly specified foam one.
Nests for efficient freight
Pulp trays stack into each other, so a pallet carries far more inserts than the equivalent in cut foam. Real savings on inbound shipping.
Thermoformed option for premium finish
A smooth, precise surface with crisp detail and tight tolerance — the finish seen in premium consumer electronics packaging.
